Army General Officer Nominations dtd January 2012

The chief of staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Ralph O. Baker, vice director, J-7, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C., to commander, Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa, Djibouti.

Maj. Gen. Kendall P. Cox, commanding general, U.S. Army Engineer Division, Trans-Atlantic, Winchester, Va., to deputy commanding general for military and international operations, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.

Maj. Gen. Anthony R. Ierardi, director of force management, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C., to commanding general, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Maj. Gen. Jimmie O. Keenan, commander, U.S. Army Medical Activity, Fort Carson/chief, U.S. Army Nurse Corps, Fort Carson, Colo., to commanding general, U.S. Army Public Health Command/chief, U.S. Army Nurse Corps, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

Maj. Gen. Gregg F. Martin, commandant, U.S. Army War College, Carlisle Barracks, Pa., to president, National Defense University, Washington, D.C.

Maj. Gen. John W. Nicholson Jr., to deputy director, Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, Arlington, Va. He most recently served as deputy chief of staff, operations, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Maj. Gen. Todd T. Semonite, commanding general, U.S. Army Engineer Division, South Atlantic, Atlanta, Ga., to deputy chief of engineers/deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. Camille M. Nichols, who has been selected for the rank of major general, program executive officer, soldier, Fort Belvoir, Va., to commanding general, Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala.

Brig. Gen. Jeffrey N. Colt, deputy commanding general (support), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky., to deputy commanding general, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Brig. Gen. John M. Murray, assistant deputy director for joint training, J-7, The Joint Staff, Suffolk, Va., to director of force management, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. James F. Pasquarette, director of comprehensive soldier fitness, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C., to deputy director, program analysis and evaluation, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Col. Paul A. Ostrowski, who has been selected for the rank of brigadier general, assistant deputy for acquisition and systems management, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology), Washington, D.C., to program executive officer, soldier, Fort Belvoir, Va.

Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army Brig. Gen. Robert P. Ashley Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Ashley is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, intelligence, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Army Brig. Gen. Jeffrey L. Bailey has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Bailey is currently serving as deputy commanding general (support), 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Carson, Colo.

Army Brig. Gen. Jeffrey N. Colt has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Colt is currently serving as deputy commanding general (support), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

Army Brig. Gen. Kenneth R. Dahl has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Dahl is currently serving as deputy commanding general (support), 10th Mountain Division (Light), Fort Drum, N.Y.

Army Brig. Gen. Gordon B. Davis Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Davis is currently serving as deputy commander, Regional Command-East, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Army Brig. Gen. Joseph P. DiSalvo has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. DiSalvo is currently serving as deputy commanding general, III Corps and Fort Hood, Fort Hood, Texas.

Army Brig. Gen. Robert M. Dyess Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Dyess is currently serving as director, Requirements Integration Directorate, Army Capabilities Integration Center, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, Fort Eustis, Va.

Army Brig. Gen. Karen E. Dyson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Dyson is currently serving as director, business operations, Office of Business Transformation, Office of The Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Paul E. Funk II has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Funk is currently serving as deputy commanding general (maneuver), 1st Infantry Division and Fort Riley, Fort Riley, Kan.

Army Brig. Gen. Harold J. Greene has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Greene is currently serving as program executive officer, intelligence, electronic warfare, and sensors, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

Army Brig. Gen. William C. Hix has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Hix is currently serving as director, future operations, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Army Brig. Gen. Stephen R. Lyons has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Lyons is currently serving as director for logistics operations, readiness, force integration and strategy (G-4/3/5/7), Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Herbert R. McMaster Jr., has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. McMaster is currently serving as commander, Combined Joint Interagency Task Force - Shafafiyat, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Army Brig. Gen. John M. Murray has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Murray is currently serving as assistant deputy director for joint training, J-7, The Joint Staff, Suffolk, Va.

Army Brig. Gen. Richard P. Mustion has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Mustion is currently serving as director, military personnel management, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-1, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Michael K. Nagata has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Nagata is currently serving as deputy director for special operations, J-37, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Bryan R. Owens has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Owens most recently served as deputy commanding general, U.S. Division-South, Operation New Dawn, Iraq.

Army Brig. Gen. James F. Pasquarette has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Pasquarette is currently serving as director of comprehensive soldier fitness, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Lawarren V. Patterson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Patterson is currently serving as commanding general, 7th Signal Command (Theater), Fort Gordon, Ga.

Army Brig. Gen. Aundre F. Piggee has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Piggee is currently serving as commanding general, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.

Army Brig. Gen. Ross E. Ridge has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Ridge is currently serving as director, Task Force 2010, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Army Brig. Gen. John G. Rossi has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Rossi is currently serving as commanding general, 32d Army Air Missile Defense Command, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Army Brig. Gen. Thomas C. Seamands has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Seamands is currently serving as deputy chief of staff, G-1, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Michael H. Shields has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Shields is currently serving as deputy director, Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, Arlington, Va.

Army Brig. Gen. Leslie C. Smith has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Smith is currently serving as commanding general, 20th Support Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

Army Brig. Gen. John Uberti has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Uberti is currently serving as deputy commanding general/chief of staff, Installation Management Command, San Antonio, Texas.

Army Brig. Gen. Bryan G. Watson has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Watson is currently serving as director, Joint Engineering Directorate, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Army Brig. Gen. Darrell K. Williams has been nominated for appointment to the rank of major general. Williams is currently serving as commander, Defense Logistics Agency, Land and Maritime, Columbus, Ohio.

Secretary of Defense Leon E. Panetta announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army Maj. Gen. Daniel B. Allyn has been nominated for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as commanding general, XVIII Airborne Corps and Fort Bragg, Fort Bragg, N.C. Allyn is currently serving as the commanding general, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas/commanding general, Combined Joint Task Force-1, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Army Col. John M. Cho has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Cho is currently serving as commander, 30th Medical Command, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.

Army Col. Jeffrey B. Clark has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Clark is currently serving as commander, Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany.

Army Col. Richard C. Gross has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Gross is currently serving as staff judge advocate, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
