The Chief of Staff, Army announced today the following assignments:

Army Reserve Maj. Gen. Stephen D. Tom, chief of staff, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii, to commander, Joint Prisoner of War/Missing in Action Accounting Command, U.S. Pacific Command, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii.

Army Brig. Gen. Stephen G. Fogarty, director of intelligence, J-2, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla., to commanding general/commandant, U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and Fort Huachuca, Fort Huachuca, Ariz.

Army Brig. Gen. Keith W. Gallagher, commanding general, Europe Regional Medical Command/command surgeon, U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, Germany, to commanding general, Tripler Army Medical Center/Pacific Regional Medical Command/U.S. Army Pacific surgeon/lead agent, Tricare Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Smith, commandant, U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School/deputy commanding general, Material and Technology, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., to commanding general, 20th Support Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

Army Brig. Gen. Jeffrey J. Snow, commanding general, 20th Support Command (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and High Yield Explosive), Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md., to director, Iraq Training and Advisory Team-Army, U.S. Forces-Iraq.

The following Army General Officer nominations were confirmed by the Senate on 19 March 2010:

Lieutenant General James D. Thurman, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of general and assignment as Commanding General, United States Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Georgia. He is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, United States Army, Washington, DC.

Lieutenant General David M. Rodriguez, United States Army, for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Commander, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command/Deputy Commander, United States Forces-Afghanistan. He is currently serving as Commander, International Security Assistance Force Joint Command, Afghanistan.

Lieutenant General Jack C. Stultz, United States Army Reserve, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general. He is currently serving as Chief, Army Reserve/Commander, United States Army Reserve Command, Washington, DC.

Major General John W. Morgan III, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Commander, Force Command, Heidelberg, North Atlantic Treaty Organization. He is currently serving as Chief of Staff, United States European Command, Germany.
